What is Cutenox 20 Mg?

CUTENOX 20MG contains Enoxaparin sodium injection which belongs to a group of medicine called low molecular weight heparin or LMWH. Cost of enoxaparin is low in Yourmedikart. Cutenox is used to prevent and treat blood clots. Cutenox injection works by stopping the existing blood clots from getting bigger.

Cutenox 20 mg injection is a blood thinner used to prevent blood clots in the legs. It is used in combination with warfarin to treat blood clots. If the patient has any bleeding disorders, the doctor should be informed and should be aware of the possible side effects of the medicine.

Take the 20 mg injection as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less medicine than recommended. Treatment should start with a lower dose and gradually increase the dose according to the response. Do not stop taking this medicine without notifying your doctor.

• Prophylaxis for angina and myocardial infarction
  Cutenox 20 MG Injection is used as a preventive medicine to prevent blood clots and promote better blood flow in the conditions like angina (a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart) and myocardial infarction (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle). This greatly decreases the chances of triggering a cardiac event like a heart attack.
• Deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after surgery
  Cutenox 20 MG Injection is used as a prophylaxis to prevent blood clots after surgeries like hip, knee replacement surgery, and abdominal surgery.
• Prophylaxis for Deep vein thrombosis
  Deep vein thrombosis is the occurrence of a blood clot (thrombus) in one or more of the deep veins in your body (usually in your legs). It is a serious condition as a blood clot may loosen and get lodged in the lungs. Cutenox 20 MG Injection is used as a prophylactic or preventive medicine to prevent blood clots usually in the legs.
• Deep vein thrombosis
  Cutenox 20 MG Injection is used in the treatment of Deep vein thrombosis is the occurrence of a blood clot (thrombus) in one or more of the deep veins in your body (usually in your legs). It is a serious condition as a blood clot may loosen and get lodged in the lungs which may result in a pulmonary embolism or stroke.

General Instructions

Injection: Cutenox 20 MG Injection is administered in a hospital setting under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Don’t try to self-administer.

Tablet: Cutenox 20 MG Injection should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation.

Gel: Apply a thin layer of Cutenox 20 MG Injection to affected areas according to doctor’s instructions. Always clean and dry affected areas before application. Wash your hands before and after application, unless the hands are affected. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or broken skin. Finish the prescribed treatment period, even if the condition improves.

Injecting Cutenox 20 MG increases the risk of bleeding and delayed clotting. Be careful when shaving and when using sharp objects.

Tell your doctor if you notice any bleeding from the gums, wounds, or nose that lasts longer than usual, or if blood appears in your urine, vomit, or stool.

Warnings

Bleeding

The drug is known to increase the risk of bleeding in patients with bleeding disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, uncontrolled hypertension, or any eye disease.

Liver function impairment

The drug is known to increase liver enzymes, so patients should use it with caution. Impaired liver function

Impaired kidney function

This medicine may increase the risk of bleeding in patients with severe renal failure. If CrCl is less than 30 ml/min, the dose should be adjusted.

Percutaneous coronary revascularization surgery

For patients who have undergone surgery for unstable angina and myocardial infarction, this drug should be used with caution to minimize the risk of bleeding.

Thrombocytopenia

Patients with a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia should use this drug with caution. If the platelet level is less than 100,000 cells/mm3, stop treatment.
