What is TECENTRIQ ?

• TECENTRIQ may be used when your bladder cancer:

o has spread or cannot be removed by surgery (advanced urothelial carcinoma),
o you are not able to take chemotherapy that contains a medicine called cisplatin,
o you have tried chemotherapy that contains platinum, and it did not work or is no longer working

TECENTRIQ is a medicine designed to treat your bladder cancer and is thought to work with your body’s own immune system to fight cancer cells. It may also affect normal cells.

HOW DOES TECENTRIQ WORK?

• Your immune system is a collection of specialized organs and cells that help protect you against infection and disease.3However, a protein called PD-L1 found on many cells, including cancer cells, can allow cancer cells to hide from your immune system. When PD-L1 on cancer cells binds to specific proteins on your immune cells, it may prevent your immune system from being able to recognize and kill your cancer.2

• TECENTRIQ is an anti-PDL1 antibody, meaning it is designed to block PD-L1. By blocking PD-L1, TECENTRIQ is thought to boost your body’s own immune system to target and kill cancer cells that hide using PD-L1. TECENTRIQ may also affect normal cells.

• TECENTRIQ may be used when your lung cancer:

o has spread or grown,
o you have tried chemotherapy that contains platinum, and it did not work or is no longer working
If your tumor has an abnormal EGFR or ALK gene, you should have also tried an FDA-approved therapy for tumors with these abnormal genes, and it did not work or is no longer working.
