Cytotam 20 mg Tablet is used in the treatment and prevention of breast cancer.

- Cytotam 20 mg Tablet lowers estrogen production in your body and reduces the growth of hormone sensitive tumors.
- Cytotam 20 mg Tablet may harm the unborn baby if used during pregnancy.
- Hot flashes (sudden sweating and feelings of warmth) may occur on starting treatment with Cytotam 20 mg Tablet, but should go away with time.
Precautions :
The patient must take certain measures before and while using Cytotam 20 mg Tablet to ensure proper treatment and avoid any unreasonable scenario. These include :-
- Cytotam 20 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
- There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
- Cytotam 20 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
- Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
- Cytotam 20 mg Tablet may cause tiredness. This may affect your driving ability.

How Cytotam Tablet works
Cytotam 20 mg Tablet is an a hormone-based medication. It works by binding to oestrogen receptors and blocks the effects of oestrogen (a natural female hormone) in the breast tissue. This slows down the growth and multiplication of breast cancer cells. In addition, it also treats female infertility due to a failure to produce and release eggs (ovulate) properly.
How to use Cytotam Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cytotam 20 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
